We’re so glad you’re looking at coming to St Stephen’s.
No matter whether you’re investigating Christianity, or you have been Jesus’ follower for years, you’re in the right place! We are a church of people who are gripped by the love of God in Christ.
As the apostle Paul said:
“For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one (Jesus) died for all, and therefore all died, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again.” (2 Cor 5:14-15)
Our Mission
Because of this, the mission that lies at the heart of St Stephen’s is simple. We exist to: “Know Christ and Make Him Known”.
After his resurrection, Jesus said to his disciples:
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. I am with you always to the very end of the age” (Matt 28:19-20).
There is no greater joy than to be part of what God is doing in the world. Every day, St Stephen’s exists to see this mission grow, as more people come to know the grace of Jesus and live for him.
It is our privilege to fulfil this mission with passion, energy & joy.
Ministry Vision
How does this mission shape the life of St Stephen’s? Our prayer is that as we live out this mission it will be clear to all that we are:
“A community committed to Christ as Lord, transformed by his grace, living for his glory and sharing good news in all the world”.
We pray God will grant us an increasing fervour in this mission. And we pray St Stephen’s will be a church filled with members sacrificially giving of their time, resources and energies to see this mission grow.

Here’s how you can belong to St Stephen’s and be part of this mission with us.
These are our large group meetings. Everybody is welcome. We sing God’s praises, pray to Him, hear His Word read and taught, and seek to encourage one another before and after the meeting. You will find elements of the Anglican tradition woven into the service, together with elements of contemporary expression. These include creeds, confessions, prayers and time-honoured hymns.

St Stephen’s is a part of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. Our beliefs are summed up in the 39 Articles of Religion and in this summary of the Christian faith. St Stephen’s is led by our Senior Minister, together with our dedicated Staff Team. Alongside the staff team’s leadership of Christ’s mission, our Parish Council is responsible for matters of governance and ministry support. Our goal is to help each person take the next forward step in faith.
We would love to meet you and welcome you to one of our Sunday services or weekday ministries. That will help us assist you in your journey to know Christ better, whether you are seeking to find out about Jesus for the very first time, or simply need a refresher.
Throughout the year, we run courses designed to help you enquire about the Christian faith and to understand what it means to be a member of St Stephen’s.
